Research/Special Interests

Dr. Lang is interested in understanding how organisms interact with their environments and answering questions about populations, organism reproduction and survival, animal behavior, and dispersal (e.g., has studied Eastern Bluebirds, threatened and endangered granite outcrop plants, hoverflies – a pollinating fly species).

Dr. Lang also seeks collaborations with students of any major on conservation and environmental educational projects and education research (e.g., promotional videos for Elachee Nature Science Center; creating posters for National Wildlife Refuges).

Personal Information

Spending time in nature while growing up inspired Dr. Lang to learn about how the natural world works. He continues to enjoy exploring the natural world and gets outside to birdwatch and take pictures of plants, animals, and landscapes as much as possible. Dr. Lang also enjoys playing guitar and baking.
