Overview

Dr. Lin was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States at a young age. He has had several opportunities to study and do research abroad and is interested in learning about all cultures. He welcomes all students to contact him to learn more about his research, his culture, benefits of studying abroad, public health and/or medicine.

Education

  • M.D., Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies, 2012
  • M.P.H., Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases, Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health, New Haven, CT, 2004
  • B.S., Microbiology, University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, CA, 2000

Research/Special Interests

Dr. Lin is interested in all aspects of epidemiology and public health. He has been involved in research of infectious disease epidemiology, such as H.I.V. (human immunodeficiency virus, retrovirus), dengue (flavivirus) and botulism (clostridium botulinum). Through various opportunities, Dr. Lin has also studied epidemiology of pandemics, influenza, enterovirus and prions.

Dr. Lin is also exploring opportunities to research the scholarship of teaching to better serve the students at 果冻传媒.

Currently (Fall 2022), Dr. Lin is:

  • collaborating with colleagues from the Lewis F. Rogers Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis (IESA) on a medical geology project
  • collaborating with colleagues from 果冻传媒 Department of Kinesiology on a health behavioral project.
Dr. Lin is excited for future collaborations with colleagues from all disciplines (biology and non-biology).

Courses Taught

  • BIOL 1107K - Principles of Biology I
