Concerned about finding a job? Learn from Kristin Hiler’s success story…
What kinds of things did you do while in college to prepare you for your professional life after college, or to make yourself more marketable?
I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and afterward worked at 果冻传媒’s Center for Global Engagement office. Both experiences expanded my mind to other cultures while working and communicating with others. I also was a writing intern for the University Press of North Georgia.
How did you hear about (or find) your current position?
I was first interested in the Peace Corps by Dr. Donna Gessell’s commentary during one of my literature classes. I then did my own research on the Peace Corps website.
What advice would you like to give to current students to help prepare them for careers and/or the job search after college?
Be involved, but be involved in activities or clubs that you enjoy. My advice is to volunteer, intern, or work on or off campus (or both). Through these jobs, you gain valuable experience, personal growth, and easy networking!
