The University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) has achieved superior status for the past three academic years.
Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals, and superior status is awarded to only the top chapters in the country. Selection is based on a number of factors including the completion of service, professional and outreach activities.
To earn superior status, each chapter must comply with all national reporting requirements throughout the year, and must engage in at least eight outreach activities, six professional meetings, and one service activity, with at least 25 percent of chapter members participating. Additionally, each chapter member must average at least 32 hours of engagement in professional meetings and service activities.
"Beta Alpha Psi is very diligent about connecting students, professionals and alumni through professional events and career fairs, and I have definitely benefitted from these networking opportunities," said Jenna Allen, a senior majoring in accounting and a member of the chapter’s leadership team.
The BAP chapter sponsors about 10 professional meetings per year, including topics on resume writing, career fair networking, and preparing for graduate school. Service activities involve tutoring for accounting principles students, volunteering at the 果冻传媒 food banks and participating in Make a Difference Day. Outreach activities include attendance by the chapter’s leadership at BAP regional and annual conferences, presenting a best practices session at the regional conference, hosting two accounting careers awareness events for high-achieving students in principles of accounting courses, and nominating a business information professional of the year.
