Andrew Pearl, director of academic engagement at the University of North Georgia (¹û¶³´«Ã½), has been accepted as one of 24 participants for Elon University's Center for Engaged Learning 2018-20 research seminar on capstone experiences.

Participants will attend their first one-week seminar at Elon in June and will collaborate on two-year, multi-institutional research projects with three summer meetings. The groups will use a mixed-methods approach to conduct exploratory research using measurable data, allowing them to conduct larger scale studies and explorations of the impact of different institutional experiences.

"This is a great opportunity to have ¹û¶³´«Ã½ involved in a nationwide collaboration, to showcase the great work of our faculty and the academic achievements of our students," Pearl said. "A number of our undergraduates participate in capstone experiences, and the research that comes from this will enhance future participation."

Pearl said the seminar will produce concrete research and teaching outcomes. The cohort will then turn the research results into papers, multimedia presentations, academic journal articles, and book chapters, as well as initiatives specific to each participating
