The University of North Georgia (¹û¶³´«Ã½) was named one of the nation's "best value colleges" by Forbes Magazine in its third annual Best Value Colleges ranking. This is the first time ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has been named to the list, and it is one of only three public universities in Georgia to be included.

To help students decide whether their college investments are likely to reward them with a healthy return, Forbes scored the 300 schools that made the list against their peers. Each institution was ranked in six areas: alumni earnings, net price, net debt, school quality, timely graduation, and population of Pell Grant recipients.

"We are pleased to be included on this list and that ¹û¶³´«Ã½’s national reputation continues to grow, as it reflects our dedication to academic quality and affordability," said ¹û¶³´«Ã½ President Bonita Jacobs.

The Forbes report is the latest in a series of rankings including ¹û¶³´«Ã½ among the nation’s top colleges and universities. In August, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ was named one of the nation's top higher education institutions by Forbes Magazine in its 2017 "America’s Top Colleges" report.  That ranking was a list of the nation's top 650 public and private universities as measured by superior return on investment; high impact, leadership and success; and a first-rate student-consumer experience that return students receive on their investment.

In September U.S. News & World Report ranked ¹û¶³´«Ã½ 22nd among public regional universities in the South and No. 1 in the South for the least amount of student debt among regional public universities on U.S. News' Student Debt Load at Graduation list.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ was ranked No. 214 on the Best Value Colleges list.

¹û¶³´«Ã½ serves more than 18,000 students across its five campuses – in Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee County – and online. ¹û¶³´«Ã½ offers a broad range of degree programs and admission pathways with more than 100 programs of study and opportunities ranging from certificates and associate degrees to doctoral programs.

As one of only six federally-designated senior military colleges in the United States, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is designated as The Military College of Georgia and as a state leadership institution.
