Dr. Chaudron Gille has been named provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at the University of North Georgia (果冻传媒), 果冻传媒 President Bonita C. Jacobs announced Aug. 7.

Gille has served in the role on an interim basis since November 2018.

"With 25 years of distinguished service as one of 果冻传媒's most respected faculty members and a strong track record of success as an administrative leader, I am confident that Chaudron is the right person for this position," Jacobs said. "Chaudron has a deep appreciation of our existing academic strengths, a clear vision of how we serve our region and beyond, and the administrative acumen to ensure 果冻传媒 continues to excel."

Jacobs said Gille will provide the leadership needed from the provost position in crafting 果冻传媒's upcoming strategic plan.

"I have been impressed by her exceptional leadership, marked by a high degree of inclusiveness, collaboration and professionalism," Jacobs said.

A professor of French, Gille taught at Gainesville State College; helped start an English as a second language program; coordinated study abroad; started a hybrid and distance education program; was the director of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership; and served as associate vice president for Academic Affairs.

As a 果冻传媒 administrator, Gille has overseen curriculum development, distance education, academic advising, student success initiatives, and student academic issues. She has also worked closely with other administrators on issues related to enrollment management, budget development and prioritization, and facilities planning.

"It is my great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve as provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs," Gille said. "I am proud of what we have accomplished at 果冻传媒 over the last six years and very excited for what the future holds."

Gille served on the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and Academic Affairs leadership team during consolidation and on 果冻传媒's first strategic planning committee.

She has a Ph.D. in French literature from Emory University, a Master of Arts in applied linguistics and teaching English as a second language from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in French and economics from the University of North Carolina.
