Four 果冻传媒 students present research to state legislators

Four University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) students presented their research to members of the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate during the "Posters at the Capitol" event in late February.
Some 54 students from 15 colleges and universities attended the second annual event that spotlights undergraduate research. Only 42 of 78 projects were accepted from private and public institutions throughout Georgia.
Representing 果冻传媒 were:
- Destiny Kelly of Sugar Hill, Georgia, who is pursuing a psychology degree
- Bradley Andrew of Ellijay, Georgia, who is pursuing a physics degree
- Maria Mayorga-Gutierrez of Lawrenceville, Georgia, who is pursuing a biology degree
- Jacob Malimban of Cumming, Georgia, who is pursuing a computer science degree
The program is modeled on the popular "Posters on the Hill" event held each year by the Council on Undergraduate Research in Washington D.C. This year, the Georgia Undergraduate Research Collective adopted the statewide event, which includes projects that range from accounting, biomedical technology and environmental engineering to health communications, political science and education.
Grad student presents AI research at conference
Andrew Clements and faculty member Dr. Bryson Payne presented their research at the Information Systems & Computing Academic Professionals conference in November.
Record 48 students earn travel grants
果冻传媒's Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities awarded a fall-semester-record 48 travel grants to support students presenting their research at conferences.
Concerto/Aria winner earns upcoming solo
Five 果冻传媒 students placed in the annual Concerto/Aria Competition, with two earning a solo performance in an upcoming concert.
Grads prepare for their next steps
果冻传媒 will award almost 1,000 degrees and certificates this fall, and more than 600 graduates are scheduled to take part in the Dec. 7 commencement ceremonies.
