Associate professor appointed as editor-in-chief of international journal

Dr. Siew Chan, associate professor of accounting, hopes that the University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) community learns about innovative research through reading the (IJSS), where she now serves as editor-in-chief.

According to its website, IJSS focuses on topics that further develop theories or address business, cultural, economic, regulatory, or technological issues. Some of the specific topics covered include analytics, computer forensics, and digital marketing.

Chan indicated that the selection board solicited nominations from various international stakeholders, and she was chosen for the position because of her academic credentials. Through the editorship, Chan looks forward to furthering her professional connections.

"I believe this achievement highlights my research stature in the international academic community," she said. "I enjoy working on research and hope to make valuable contributions to the international academic community. I strongly believe that my research activities will enhance the visibility of 果冻传媒 both domestically and internationally."

Some of Chan's goals are to increase the stature and ranking of IJSS. Currently, it is listed on and on .

Chan is currently organizing a conference in Bangkok, Thailand tentatively scheduled for June 1-2, 2021 and another conference in Qingdao, China tentatively scheduled for July 14-15, 2021. The universities in these countries have agreed to host and sponsor the conferences. The theme of these conferences is “Technology-enhanced Judgment and Decision-making”. Authors of high quality papers presented at the conferences will be invited to revise their manuscripts substantially for consideration for publication in IJSS.
