University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) men's basketball player  was recently appointed to the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

This nationwide, highly selective committee includes members from every Division II conference. Brown will represent the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) for a nonrenewable three-year term.

"I look forward to seeing Zach take on this new role and implement his leadership skills as he has always represented 果冻传媒 with class and integrity," said Lindsay Reeves, 果冻传媒 director of athletics. "And I know he will do the same for the Peach Belt Conference at the national level."

Brown, a redshirt junior from Princeton, New Jersey, just finished up his first year in a Nighthawk uniform, averaging 8.2 points per contest. He scored in double figures 13 times, including a season-best 20-point outing at Southern Wesleyan. After serving as a member of SAAC at his previous school (Hartford), Brown now serves as treasurer on 果冻传媒's SAAC Executive Board.

The SAAC serves as the primary governance arm representing student-athlete interests in Division II affairs.

Brown has already taken part in a SAAC initiative that encourages student-athletes to register to vote.

"This is a wonderful leadership and learning opportunity for me, as well as an opportunity for me to make a real impact on student-athletes across the country and hopefully create positive change," Brown said.
