Dr. Chaudron Gille has learned several lessons in higher education. The University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs shared her insights in a chapter in the book "Thriving as a Woman in Leadership in Higher Education: Stories and Strategies from Your Peers."

The $65 book has been released through its publisher's webpage, , and on Amazon.

Gille explained her chapter encourages women in higher education to talk about their achievements using qualitative and quantitative data. With tangible examples, women can revamp their resumes to seek out new opportunities and negotiate for higher salaries.

"It is widely known that women typically make less than men. This is true in higher education leadership as well," Gille said. "One thing often cited is women don't promote themselves as much as men do."

Her chapter aims to give women the tools to change that.

"On my resume, it never occurred to me to put a dollar amount of the budget that I managed until I saw others do it," Gille said. "That gives you and employers looking at your resume a sense of the scope of your responsibilities."

She said fleshing out a resume with a thorough job description and budget figures or number of students impacted by a program can help women showcase their abilities. She included those examples and more in her chapter.

"The chapter is about the lessons I've learned along the way," she said.
