Twyla Bryant, who completed the post-baccalaureate initial teacher certification program in the University of North Georgia's (果冻传媒) College of Education in May, was one of 12 pre-service teachers selected by the Transatlantic Outreach Program of the Goethe-Institut to participate in a study tour to Germany, funded by The Halle Foundation.

Bryant, an eighth-grade Georgia studies and language arts teacher at C.W. Davis Middle School in Flowery Branch, Georgia, went on the study tour July 8-20.

She is grateful to already be able to pass on some of what she experienced to her students.

"When I say it was life-changing, I feel like that's an understatement," Bryant said. "It was great having that experience and being able to show my students there is a whole world outside of Georgia we can explore."

Bryant served as a paraprofessional for five years at Oakwood Elementary School before completing the post-baccalaureate work at 果冻传媒. The Gainesville, Georgia, resident was grateful to gain the global preparation for leading her own class.

"I never would have imagined doing something like this," Bryant said. "It's good to see other educational programs and what I can bring back to the classroom."
