2021 Upward Bound

Upward Bound gives potential first-generation and low-income students an immersive college experience for six weeks on our Dahlonega Campus.

果冻传媒 faculty plays a very significant role in our Upward Bound programs. They're here to teach courses like English, math, science, and even foreign language. And it works out perfectly because they know exactly what our students will need to know when they transition to post-secondary.

The Summer Scholars teaches rising 7th-, 8th-, 9th-, and 10th-grade students about science, technology, engineering, math, and social studies.

We work on a STEM project. We studied architecture, electricity, and energy, and what they do is they build a model house to scale and they have to wire it.

So what I love about this program is what it really means and what it does for the students.

Steps to College helps English as Second Language learners maintain and improve language skills in courses on civics, economics, and writing.

These summer academic programs help us to decrease the summer learning loss that might occur from one grade level to another. And it exposes our students to the college environment.

I enjoy Steps to College because I get to meet many people from different schools, and I get to experience being in a college place and in a college classroom.

And I get to get Starbucks all the time as well.
