(Psci-Train)

(Thirty-four local elementary school teachers recently completed the first year of Psci-Train, a two-year professional development course taught by 果冻传媒 faculty focused on science instruction and pedagogy.)

[unintelligible conversation]

Carol Duncan: Children are naturally curious and hands-on activities encourages problem-solving skills that teach independence and perseverance. Project-based learning is here to stay and appreciate the exciting materials that you guys have both exposed us to in this class and are letting us take back to our classrooms to share with our students.

April Nelms: From all of these sessions we'll have a large impact in our service area around the university. We have partnerships in two county school systems both Hall and Lumpkin, so we have thirty four teachers who will then go out and teach anywhere from maybe twenty to thirty students each so our growth with this, with everyone getting this information, becomes somewhat exponential at that point.

Dr. Jennifer Wade: If educators are able to tap into a deeper understanding and pedagogy with inquiry, then we as educators can convey these frameworks to students more effectively.

Teachers: Ready, set, go.

Professor: OK. So when they hit, they combined and then they went on both sides of our center line point. So these transfer sways as you can see move a little bit different than longitudinal.

Dr. Mark Spraker: The information that we're providing the teachers and hopefully by extension to their students both this year and in future years is incredibly important to the economic development of this region and for all of the state of Georgia. The more that we understand about science and technology the more that students view mathematics and engineering and technology and science as a friend rather than something to be feared, the better our nation will do, the better our state will do, the better our communities will do.
