Content Owner & Coordinator Responsibilities
The is managed using the Cascade content management system.
Content on university-level landing pages and overarching sites is managed by Strategic Communications & Marketing and Web Communications.
All edits to content within Cascade are done by Web Communications and other Strategic Communications & Marketing members.
Content Owner Responsibilities
- for their unit's website.
- The coordinator will submit edit requests via , and edits will be completed by the webteam.
- Only edit requests submitted by the authorized coordinator will be completed.
- The coordinator should be a full-time employee.
- Content owners may also function as a web coordinator for a unit.
- Inform the webteam when coordinators leave and when a new coordinator should be added.
- Use to add or to update your web coordinator.
- Inform the chosen employee that they have been identified as the web coordinator.
- Educate his or her team affiliated with web content creation that all new content submissions or web edits may only be submitted by the content coordinator(s) to the webteam via ServiceNow.
- Responsible for any issues that arise about content used on the department website. This includes, but is not limited to:
- inaccurate content
- copyright issues
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance regarding uploaded documents or embedded videos
Content Coordinator Responsibilities
- Appointed by web content owner.
- Liaise between unit's content experts, the content owner and the webteam.
- No Cascade training necessary.
- Submit new content and edit requests through the appropriate form with as much detail as possible.
- Submit content that meets the following requirements:
- Meets all image, branding and writing style guidelines
- Accurate, up-to-date and free of grammatical errors and misspellings
- Free of any copyright issues
- Ensures videos are closed-captioned and have transcripts
- Ensures any document sent to be uploaded has an accessibility statement
- Submit a text-version of any graphic or multimedia.
- Submit high-quality, uncropped imagery that is free of any copyright issues.
- Retain copyright permissions, model release forms and other documentation as needed.
- Curate expert information.
- Serve as point-of-contact for any questions regarding unit's website, such as edit requests from other units.
