Saving Research in GALILEO Databases

In this video I will show you how to save your research in a custom folder in Galileo databases.
Personal folder options are available in the Discover Search on the Galileo home page and databases from database providers ebsco and ProQuest.
If you go to databases A to Z and scroll through the list, you'll be able to recognize ebsco and ProQuest databases with their logos. From the databases A to Z list we have selected Academic Search Complete.
From any page in this database you have the sign-in option at the top of the page. To create a personal folder, select this option and then click "create a new account."
After your account has been created, you can run your search, and on your search results you have several options. Click on the share option and you can see that you have multiple ways to save the results for your search. You will want to make sure you use the persistent link option rather than the URL found at the URL bar on your browser. The persistent link isn't session based, so it will work at a later time. You can also add individual articles to your folder by clicking the plus sign next to the article's title in the search results.
Within your personal folder you have the option to add subfolders. So if you're researching several topics you can create a subfolder for each. I just created a folder for environment.
I also mentioned that personal folder accounts are also available in the Galileo Discover Search. The Discover search is also an ebsco product, so the folder that you created in ebsco databases can also be accessed when using this Discover search. So let's do a search from the Discovery search box, and from the search results you have the option to access your folder at the top.
Sign in to your folder and you will see the article that we saved from Academic Search Complete. And from here, you have the option to move the article into your new subfolder, environment.
ProQuest is another database vendor with some of the same options as ebsco. In ProQuest this feature is called "My Research." I ran a search in ProQuest and on the search results page you can see that you have some of the same features to save searches and individual articles to your folder.
One last note, you have the ability to add articles to folders in these databases at any time, but if you haven't created a personal account, your articles will be lost as soon as you close out your browser.
