Overview

Dr. Robb Sinn joined the faculty ranks at North Georgia in 2003 after graduating with a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Cincinnati earlier that year. Dr. Sinn helped develop the University of North Georgia’s statistics minor and teaches various statistics courses and game theory. Dr. Sinn's research interests include statistics education, mathematics education, self-efficacy and the high school mathematics curriculum. Dr. Sinn has been part of several successful research grant projects including a statistics education NSF grant.

In 2006, Dr. Sinn re-launched the , a leadership and academics camp for talented teenagers in the summer prior to their senior year of high school. The successful program hosts nearly 50 students each summer for a two-week residential experience that includes an adventure-learning leadership curriculum and collegiate level academics including undergraduate research experiences.

Research/Special Interests

Dr. Sinn has published peer-reviewed articles in mathematics education and statistics education journals. In Spring 2006, Dr. Sinn taught Game Theory (MATH 3590) for the first time after developing the course in 2005. He has taught Game Theory every even-year Spring semester since. In 2013, Dr. Sinn became the field placement coordinator for the MAED program and works will local middle and high schools to train secondary mathematics teachers.
