Anonymous donor purchases ¹û¶³´«Ã½ children's book for elementary school

The University of North Georgia (¹û¶³´«Ã½) Press will give copies of "¹û¶³´«Ã½ The Gold I See," written by ¹û¶³´«Ã½ President Bonita C. Jacobs, to Lumpkin County Elementary School thanks to a large donation.
An anonymous donor gave ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Press $500 to purchase the copies of the book, said Bonnie "BJ" Robinson, director of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Press and professor of English at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
"I appreciate what the donor is doing, which is to actively promote children's literature and literacy," Robinson said. "That is important because if you get children hooked on reading early, it will stay with them. And reading is one of the few ways that a life can be changed."
The book will be added to the school's library and given to several classrooms.
"¹û¶³´«Ã½ The Gold I See: The Legacy of ¹û¶³´«Ã½’s Dahlonega Campus" tells the story of a young boy and his multigenerational family during their visit to the Dahlonega Campus. The book is the first in a series about the five ¹û¶³´«Ã½ campuses: Dahlonega, Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge. The book about the Gainesville Campus is already in development.
