Article By: Clark Leonard

University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) mathematics professor Dr. Robb Sinn had an published in The Federalist in November.

He initially examined the data during a probability and statistics class he taught in 2018. He delved deeper into the numbers and examined wage growth under the administrations of Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

"The narrative from those facts was surprising," Sinn said.

He said record wage growth at the beginning of Trump's term was surprising because of the high number of jobs being added to the economy at that time, many of them in low-paying sectors.

Sinn said the article grew out of the mindset he encourages in his students. He wants them to question everything and examine data for themselves. Though his article endorsed a candidate, he does not offer such endorsements in his classes.

"I don't even want them to believe my analysis. I want them to use statistics to help them question what they're hearing," Sinn said. "I want them to dig deeply on the arguments they're hearing."
