Research/Special Interests

Human Trafficking
For most of the generationally impoverished children in India, the only chance to avoid becoming victims of human trafficking is to increase the length of time in school. Therefore, the research has the primary objective of increasing the potential of children from this community to stay in school beyond the average drop out age of seven. This process is achieved through both educational development initiatives and community development activities that aim to increase the quality of maternal interactions within these slums.

Student Learning Outcomes
Research focuses on measuring and assessing global competencies of educational outcomes with students participating in a study abroad programs.  We are using a measurement that analyzes the impact of specific experiences that are implicitly or explicitly designed to facilitate growth, learning or change through an extensive demographic, life history questionnaire, a comprehensive assessment of beliefs, values and worldviews and qualitative reflection items.
