Overview
Dr. Pinheiro is an associate professor of sociology at the 果冻传媒 Gainesville Campus. He is also the Assistant Director for the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities. He received his Ph.D. in sociology from Emory University, and was a Post Doctoral fellow at Georgia Tech. Dr. Pinheiro's teaching and research focuses on economic and cultural factors that influence inequality, especially with regards to education and scientific careers.

Research/Special Interests
Dr. Pinheiro's research focuses on the role of institutions, social networks and culture on market processes. Currently, his main focus is on the careers of academic scholars and how different factors may explain the under-representation of certain groups among faculty.
