Student Employee Success Guide

A student employee is a part-time employee who is currently enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours (half-time credit load) at 果冻传媒 with the primary goal of achieving a degree. A student employee can also be referred to or known as: Student Worker, Student Assistant, Federal Work Study Student, or Graduate Assistant.

Accounts

Your 果冻传媒 username and password are key to accessing many of the resources the Office of Information Technology provides. Protect your identity by protecting your password.

  • Student employees are provided staff account credentials.
    • The staff account credentials must be used to access OneUSG, which is the HR/Payroll system. As an employee, OneUSG is used to record hours worked, update tax and direct deposit information, etc.
    • To access OneUSG: visit  and login using your staff account credentials.
  • Student employees are also provided a staff email account.
    • To access your work email, visit , and login by using your staff account credentials.
      Tip: Use a different browser than the one you use for your student account.
    • All 果冻传媒 staff are required to complete mandatory training.
      Notifications will be sent to your 果冻传媒 staff email address, and
      you must access and complete the trainings using your staff account.

Access

  • Use alternate browsers for each account. Separate browsers can store each username for a faster login experience.
  • Clearing browsing history and cache can resolve errors.

Security

  • Visit to change your password and enroll in password management. Once your security questions are set, you will be able to reset your 果冻传媒 password without assistance from IT.
  • NEVER share your username and password with anyone. Information Technology will never ask for password information.
  • Create a strong password that is difficult for others to guess but easy for you to remember.
    • Use a mix of numbers, special characters/punctuation, upper- and lowercase letters.
    • Avoid passwords that are too simple, like your username or 'Passw0rd1!'
    • Avoid searchable information, like your phone number or date of birth.
    • Avoid conversational information, like a nickname or pet's name.
    • Avoid using a short password

Support

Whether its a work computer or your personal computer, the 果冻传媒 IT Service Desk offers students, faculty, and staff in-person technical assistance. On-site technicians can assist with issues regarding users’ accounts, devices, software installation, data transfers, and more. In-depth hardware or software troubleshooting issues may require a longer wait and the device will be checked in for further investigation.  In addition, each IT Service Desk locations facilitates a loaner laptop program, where we can issue a laptop for a limited amount of time. Find your campus’ Service Desk location.
