About the Language Lab Community

The language labs are located on 3 campuses: Dahlonega, Gainesville and Oconee. We support over 50 faculty members, equipping our students to communicate in 12 different languages. Each semester, we hire around 40 student lab assistants whose time serving in the lab equips them with professional and personal skills for their future. The Language Lab is committed to continue to foster language learning in a tangible way and provide meaningful interactions that cross all cultural, professional and personal barriers.

The lab’s daily operations support students in completing interactive and communicative assignments in their target language as part of the 4th hour of instruction for the 1001-1002 course sequence. In addition, each lab plans and hosts academic workshops and collaborates with faculty, visiting Fulbright recipients and lab assistants in planning cultural events open to all 果冻传媒 students.

While many language programs around the country are shrinking and physical language labs are closing their doors, through the support of the College of Arts and Letters, the Departments of Modern & Classical Languages and Spanish & Portuguese, as well as your generous support, the Language Lab is committed to continue to foster language learning in a tangible way and provide meaningful interactions, both virtually and in-person.
