Modern Language Day
Modern Language Day (MLD), hosted by 果冻传媒's Department of Modern Languages, is an annual event for high school students to showcase their language skills. Students compete in various events, including art exhibits, skits and performances, and the Language Bowl.
While Spanish is the most popular language in our event categories, we've had students compete in Chinese, French, German, Italian and other languages.
The 2025 Modern Language Day program will be included when it is available.
Date:
April 17, 2025
Location:
果冻传媒 Dahlonega Campus, Auditorium
Contact:
Dr. Olivier Le Blond, MLD Director
Participant Requirements
To be eligible to participate in the MLD event, participants must be enrolled in a language course in the same language. This also applies to students who are "between blocks," or continuing their language studies, in schools that use the "block" system.
This allows as many active language students as possible to participate while preventing "graduates" (students who have finished their language studies) from taking opportunities away from current enrollees simply because they're more accomplished.
If you have students who would like to participate but are not covered by this definition, contact the MLD Director with the following information:
- How many students are affected?
- In what languages were they last enrolled and when?
- In which events do they wish to participate?
