Setting up an Appointment with Your Visual Arts Advisor

  • Every semester during "advising weeks," your advisor will send you an email reminding you to make an advising appointment.
  • Check your email regularly
  • Follow the instructions in the reminder email from your advisor to make an appointment
  • Visual Arts (B.F.A.) students, use the Visual Arts (B.F.A.) Advising Information

You should meet with your visual arts advisor every semester.

Meeting With Your Visual Arts Advisor

Make sure to arrive at your advising appointment prepared with the following.

  1. Review requirements for all visual arts majors and your course requirements for your major using the .
    • Note: use the catalog year of the first semester you enroll at 果冻传媒. Catalog years assume a Fall semester start. If your first semester at 果冻传媒 was a Spring or a Summer semester, your catalog year is the previous year.
      • For example, if your first semester at 果冻传媒 was Spring 2020, you should follow the 2019-2020 catalog.
  2. It is very important to review your plan of study and what courses you have completed in Degree Works.
    • We also highly recommend reviewing information for the visual arts area you are focusing in.
  3. Use the Tentative Course Schedule when planning your visual arts courses.
  4. Review the to find out what courses are being offered, as well as the course modality, course meeting days and times, and the name of the instructor teaching the course.
    • Remember that a course load of 12 semester hours is classified as full-time and is required to be eligible for the hope and Zell Miller Scholarship, and for financial aid.
    • During Fall and Spring semesters, a normal load is 15 to 18 semester hours.

Registering Courses

You and your advisor will have narrowed down your course choices and potential final selections. Check for registration dates to open and register as soon as your time allows.

Review Registration Dates and Times to know when to register. Important: Register as soon as your registration day and time opens. Visual Arts courses fill up quickly. Do not wait.

How do I register?

There are two methods that you can use to register:

  1. Follow the Office of the Registrar's instructions on How to Register
  2. Use the add/drop method of adding or dropping a course.

Waitlisted Courses
