Institutional Review Board (IRB)
The IRB is a federally mandated committee that provides ethical oversight for all research involving human subjects. All scholarship and research that involves humans, whether funded or unfunded, must be approved by the institutional review board prior to the start of a new project or the continuation of an ongoing project (includes the recruiting of subjects and collecting data).
The IRB at the University of North Georgia is composed of 果冻传媒 faculty members, representing both scientific and non-scientific fields from all campuses, and includes a member of the community. The main function of IRB is to protect human subjects and ensure, to the best of its ability, that all research with human participants is conducted in accordance with certain ethical principles.
Our Primary Concerns
- Is a legally informed consent obtained from research participants?
- Do the benefits of the research outweigh the risks to the participant?
- Are the participants being deceived?
