Every cadet begins their day with some physical training
on the historic Lipp Livesey Drill Field
PT is a great way to begin the day and routine for those pursuing
a military path.
From here-- it's to the showers before your first class.
you'll be living in modern housing that is designed to accommodate 4 cadets
per suite.
Each suite has 2 rooms that share a private bathroom
It is also reassuring to have 3 levels of ID access into this room.
All common areas provide for a little down time with ping-pong, Foosball,
billiards, and flat-screen TVs.
there's even a dedicated home theater equipped with a 60-inch LCD TV
to watch a movie or play video games.
Free laundry facilities, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a dedicated computer lab
complete a great living arrangement.
I'm meeting my research team here at the library to work on an assignment
this library provides students with all the resources necessary to be
successful with any project. There is literally a computer and wireless internet access
anywhere you might find yourself in this building.
There is even an Apple-dedicated computer lab.
Having extensive books, videos, and periodical collections
at your fingertips
is extremely helpful. My research team is here, in one of the many group-study rooms equipped with
smart boards.
With the coffee I've picked up from Java City--I'm ready to go.
As a future army officer, I want to stay in good shape,
so I spend a lot of time here at the rec center.
This awesome facility is filled with all North Georgia students
and is filled with 2 full floors of exercise equipment--
free weights,
weight machines,
treadmills, ellipticals, bikes--just about anything you need for a good workout.
Aerobic training groups and classes are available, too.
Despite the competitive nature, there are three full-sized open access basketball and
volleyball courts encircled by an indoor track.
Locker rooms and showers are available
so you can change and go straight to your next class.
On the edge of campus and almost right in the square of Dahlonega is the Chestatee Building
This is where the university bookstore is located, along with other important
administrative departments, such as graduate, undergraduate, and cadet admissions.
Besides a lot of cool North Georgia merchandise,
the university bookstore carries everything a cadet needs to maintain proper dress code
and purchase other optional equipment. A Starbucks Coffee and a 60 ft. video wall
make this a popular social spot where friends often come to study, relax,
or just hang out.
To become an army officer, you will spend much of your time here, at the Military Leadership
Center
where you will take military science courses.
This is also the place where the cadet brigade commander and his staff are located.
Did you know that with your meal plan you can get access to this all-you-can eat dining facility
that serves almost any type of food you can think of?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner--you can get great food here anytime.
Process serving locations means fast service, even during peak times.
Two floors of dining options assures that you can also find a place to sit.
There's even an outdoor plaza for dining on the sunny days.
Another great perk here at North Georgia is the fact that our campus is located
practically on the square of Dahlonega.
Why is this so great?
Because you will find that many people here love and support this university and its activities.
North Georgia is part of a rich heritage here in Dahlonega, and we are all a part
of this community.
Dahlonega is also a popular tourist town, so there are lots of great shops
and restaurants.
I like the great outdoors,
so for me, I couldn't be in a better place.
I can go biking, camping,
fishing,
kayaking, and even hike the Appalachian Trail
--and all within minutes of campus!
Visit North Georgia,
and see for yourself the outstanding value offered to anyone who wants to put
their career on a path towards success!
